2020-21 School Year Information

July 30, 2020
MPUSD Families,

As you know, all MPUSD schools will open the 2020-2021 school year in a Distance Learning model. Please scroll down for a visual timeline of what the opening of school will look like for your child(ren).

We are committed to ensuring that students continue to experience the care and commitment of our staff and the routine of daily learning, even in full Distance Learning. We acknowledge that our approach to Distance Learning cannot replicate the deep connections and social learning that happens when school is in regular session and in-person (the invaluable social interactions, real-time in-person feedback, community and extracurricular events, and so much more). However, quality learning can occur from a distance with our new Distance Learning 2.0 Plan.

Our Distance Learning 2.0 Plan will accomplish three goals for transitional kindergarten through grade 12:
  • Consistent Live Student-Teacher Contact Time
  • Online Synchronous Content Delivery
  • Online Monitoring of Student Progress/Student Assessment
There have been many questions about what Distance Learning will look like and what resources are available to families. We invite you to click on the Family Portal where you will find:
  • Sample schedules for Elementary, Middle and High School
  • Parent tutorials for Google Classroom, Parent Square, digital citizenship and other helpful tools
  • Social emotional resources for parents and families
Thank you for your support and confidence in MPUSD and our schools. We are here to serve your child(ren) and family. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or we can be of service throughout the year.
